Our Mission
Driving regional relationships by bridging artistic expression with technical discovery, turning individual curiosity into learning, and impacting communities.
Who We Are
DeltaARTS has been part of the fabric of West Memphis and the broader Delta region since 1972. We started as a community committed to the idea that art belongs to everyone — not just trained artists, not just those who can afford it, not just those who grew up with it.
More than fifty years later, that idea is still the engine. We are a performing arts organization, a creative lab, an early childhood education program, a gathering space for nonprofits, and a coworking room where strangers become collaborators. We are all of those things because our community needs all of those things.
We don't believe art lives only in galleries and theatres. We believe it lives in the way a child solves a problem, the way a neighborhood tells its own story, and the way a community decides who it wants to become.
What We Do
From youth theatre to professional presenting, our stage has been a gathering place for this community for over five decades. We perform, we present, we invite the whole region to come together around live storytelling — because stories are how communities understand themselves.
Teaching artists in classrooms. A Wolf Trap Early Learning program for the youngest creators. Fellowship support for emerging artists. Open workshops for anyone curious enough to show up. Education at DeltaARTS isn't a department — it's a disposition. We believe everyone is a learner and everyone has something to teach.
We open our doors to fellow nonprofits, co-present with community partners, and keep a coworking space where anyone can come to work — and maybe meet someone who changes what's possible for them. The Hub is built on a simple belief: a community that shares resources grows stronger than one that hoards them.
What We Believe
These aren't aspirational statements we wrote for a grant. They're the things that have kept DeltaARTS going for more than fifty years — and the things our community holds us to.
It is our sincere desire that no one is ever left out for inability to pay. We find a way — through pay-what-you-can pricing, sponsorships, barter, and conversation.
We see creativity in technology, in education, in the way a community organizes itself. Art isn't a luxury add-on. It's infrastructure.
The Delta. This specific place and its specific people are not a backdrop for our work — they are the reason for it. Our programs are shaped by who lives here and what this community needs.
We have been here since 1972. We intend to be here for the next fifty years. That kind of longevity only comes from genuine relationship — with the community, with our partners, and with the mission.
We are not here to bring art to this community.
We are here because this community is art.
