Broadway Bound

Open to area 8th-12th grade performing arts students

Selected high school performing arts students in Crittenden County may participate in the Broadway Bound program.

Offered in conjunction with The Orpheum Theatre’s Broadway Series, Broadway Bound affords students the opportunity to study and see high quality theatre performances.

On Thursday, April 20, students and adult chaperones will enjoy the national touring production of The Sound of Music at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, Tenn. Prior to the performance they will enjoy pizza and a preparatory activity at the DeltaARTS office.

Contact Sandy Kozik at skozik@deltaarts.org or 870-732-6260 for more information.

Young Authors’ Symposium

Open to area 6th-grade language arts students

Expressing oneself through the written word is fulfilling, creative and challenging. Writing is a very personal art form that allows individuals to tap into their own styles and inner beings. For a very few, this is a natural and innate talent, but for most of us, this expressive art form needs to be inspired, nurtured and practiced.

The Young Author’s Symposium will help to nurture these skills. On Thursday, February 7, 2017, students will take a journey through the unique connection of words and theatrical art. All students will receive an anthology of the complete student-created works.
